So last weekend we went to Party in the Park downtown in Centennial Olympic Park. It was a big event sponsored by 99X and various other brands, where a bunch of bands got together and put on a show.
We missed the first two bands, but made it in time to see Awolnation, Young the Giant and The Flaming Lips.

Overall we were impressed with Awolnation & Young the Giant, but we felt they were pretty chill for "party in the park". It wasn't so much as a party as it was a chill and sit on a blanket kind of show.

But then The Flaming lips came on, and oh my gosh they were a party in themselves. They put on the best show I've ever seen (and I didn't even know who they were before that week!). I would definitely recommend trying to see a Flaming Lips show if you have the chance - it was truly an epic experience & an awesome time.
